About The Artwork
I became inspired by a tree in Central Park South, NYC that has many anthropomorphic qualities. At that time I was drawn to what looks so much like a creatures "head." These branches act as horns emerging from what appears to be a young animals head, with a curious looking face. I hope the viewers will be captivated by the beauty of the forms, the way the shapes are articulated in zones, and the gestures of the swaying branches. I employ this stye as part of a series that I have been developing about trees with a human presence. The forms are evocative, not realistic. Their character is poetic.
