Healing Whisper ‘Healing Whisper’ is another expressive abstract piece from a body of work that I am currently working on. I did this through psychic automatism as with the others, where I am trying to convey an easy feeling and a probable self-contemplation, or give an enlightening moment. A lovely moment is what I wish the viewer to have from this series. I certainly derive pleasure from making them. With this painting I changed a little from the light colour spectrum for a while. If you have a look at some of the others I created, you will notice a lot of pastel colours with quite a lot of white. Here, I have kept the white and went for a slightly darker tone. Quite a neutral one, but still intriguing, having some interesting parts to wander around in. From this, I have given a bit more reflective and quiet mood through the tans of browns, like with something that has gone through some wear or age. Similar to a tree changing its autumn leaves after the more vibrant seasons. Eventually shedding the browned and curling foliage, ready for the sleep, ready for the rest. The ‘Whisper’ in the title is for the soft voice one is internally speaking to with oneself. Perhaps what the low voice is about is secretive, personal or intimate and maybe a little sentimental. Some of us need time on our own, a special moment and a time away. Maybe this abstract can take you there, despite remaining where you are. It is a mind notion. As for the painting itself, it was done in an acrylic mixed media on a gallery wrapped stretched canvas. For this piece, you do not need a frame, as it is neatly painted in a dark maroon colour on all four sides. It is complete as it is. Again, I haven’t signed it on the front of the painting and chose to sign it on the back, together with the other markings and details. The purpose for this, is as to not interfere with the whole image on viewing. All the best! Zeal.

Jason is a painter and illustrator of various styles and different media for different ends. Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. His different genres of works are ongoing series which are added to from time to time, whether it is his Aviary, Abstract, Allegoric or any other style he employs. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
