Hearts and Snake Painting

Merrilleeart Design chaos might be an initial impression of these colorful artworks. Upon further inspection, the decorative paintings offer a much more impressive and awesome trip to a grand illusionary scheme. Merrillee's spends countless hours building color theory in her painting technique in order for the viewer to be mystified by the design chaos and to challenge the mind to work at deciphering the integral layers of patterns. My study of foreground, middleground and background is used in combination with basic color and design elements creating optical motion. Subject matter is figurative, flowers, nature, and spiritual. The conception of these works began in 1988 during The Painting Experience Workshop held at the Omega Institute of Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, New York. In 2007, Merrillee attended Omega again, this time to invigorate her spiritual fine art skills by attending the Alex and Allyson Grey Intensive Workshop. Merrilleeart is more than just color, more than just design. It’s optical in its nature and can often trick the eye and brain to see movement on further examination of the finer details. It's trippy!
