ABOUT THE ARTWORK
ike most of my work, it explores suffering as a natural part of life. Not to be avoided or swept under the rug but looking at it straight in the eye, without flinching. It's not pretty but is suffering ever pretty? What the observer sees is always correct. This does not come from deep inside me, I am but the vessel. I'm to saying I have not suffered, if anything, I have known and seen more pain and sorrow than most people. I have spent a majority of my vocational life working with victims of abuse or crime on children, women, the elderly and the general public Look behind the image and feel the struggle and hopelessness.
