My version of Hell’s Kitchen is one of my best original designs. I can’t take credit for the inspiration. I never worked in a kitchen. However my brother has and these are his stories. When he used to live with me he would come home every night and vent to me every problem he had working in the kitchen. Tired of his stories, one night I handed him a pen and notebook as I thought what experienced could be relatable to many. I told him to document each detail. My masterpiece is a collection of every possible thing that could wrong while working in a kitchen. Hence the name Hell’s Kitchen. From the sign that says, “0 days with accident” to pot lids flying around and chefs getting chewed out. I chose to paint backwards on glass because it’s different and eye catching. I can make a name for myself and promote my social humor.

I was born in the Andes of Peru but raised in Southern California. I like to do things a little different. It's why I paint backwards on glass. At a young age, anything that had to do with the arts just came easy to me. After graduating from UC Riverside with a degree in Finance/Business, I decided that a normal day job was not the route for me. I chose to follow my passion. I decided to use a popular medium in glass, but in a very different way. In a style that would separate me from any other artist. My story begins at the age of 5 when I was forced out of Peru because of the political and social uprising of the time. In came the U.S. and California, my savior and teacher. It’s because of the experiences (the good and bad) I’ve had in this great place that have shaped my beliefs and the person I am today. Growing up I made friends from all walks, colors, ethnicities, ages, identities, and religions. They shared their beliefs and experiences with me. In return, they are the reason why I paint skeletons. It became apparent to me that what separates us in not the color of our skin. Instead it's our personalities, hobbies, skills, and likes that make us different. I feel if people see the world through my art and my eyes, they would see that we are all truly the same underneath. I create my art on glass. An art form accomplished by reverse drawing and painting the backside of glass so the finished product can be view from the front. This ancient technique is called reverse hand painting. In which I have modified in order to make it my own technique using my interpretation to improve my passion. I've used a variety of markers, paints and tools I make to create my art. I feel that glass brings out the best colors is my designs. I have no formal training or influence. I taught myself my technique and continue to do so. By doing things backwards it not only brought out the best effects of my art, but also its unique creativity and perspective.
