There was a grandmother. Grandma had a raw cotton bedspread. The raw cotton bedspread was inherited by the eldest grandson when the grandmother left this plan. The eldest grandson used the quilt for many years until he folded it, put it in a chest and practically forgot it, like so many other things that are inherited, kept and forgotten. But time reserved another destination for the quilt, as the eldest grandson became a plastic artist, he became a painter. Once, while rummaging through old things kept in the closet in the storage room of his house, he found the cotton bedspread he had inherited from his grandmother. As a good artist he rescued the quilt from ostracism and used it as the basis for a series of paintings he called Hereditary. After being prepared with plaster, glue and acrylic paint, the bedspread received oil paint as the historical continuity of an inheritance. The quilt is no longer a quilt, it has become a painting. The one presented here is the first of the series, which consists of three more works. The old bedspread, now painted, was mounted on mdf plate with a 2 cm wooden frame painted as a finish. It is thus ready to be fixed to the wall, however, despite being without a frame, nothing prevents whoever acquires it from providing such an ornament, which, in this case, the artist suggests that it be made of dark wood or black lacquer.
