'Hide your face so the world will never find you' Painting

This is one of my favourite scenes from the phantom of the opera. I watched the phantom of the opera as a little girl and have been obsessed ever since. This is one of my favourite scenes because it’s both tragically sad and yet both beautiful and peaceful. His love has just been rebuffed and he’s left with nothing but in this scene it feels like he’s finally able to gain some peace in his world of music. Essentially, because he decides to stop fighting and let go of his anger in that moment. (Of course, he does then go and smash some mirrors up (which looks so therapeutic) but then people were chasing him tbf.) This film is like comfort food for me and I’ve related to it so many times at different times of my life. And I think so many of us can relate to the phantom's darkness and sadness and confusion which is why I hope you will enjoy this piece.
