About The Artwork

"Hide the past" is a painting with paper collage. It's painted with acrylic on MDF. A frame is not necessary, because the edges are painted as well. No squares, no rectangles to find in this work, but with hard edges like all of my artwork. Clear structure is the setting for me, to let my emotions or chance decide the colors. The hard edge painting of the 60's made me want to start painting myself. I love hard edge art and this painting is an experiment with it.

Fabienne was born in 1978 and lives in Leipzig, Germany. She never painted, not until her fascination of the hard edge geometric abstraction painters like Karl Benjamin let her take the paint brush and try it herself. That was about five years ago. Since then, painting has become as important to her as writing. Her works focus on the opposites of life: structure and chaos, rationality and emotion, combining clear structure in form and emotional or random choices in color.
