About The Artwork

This is a mixed media painting on watercolor paper. It is a combination of oil paint and oil pastels. It is unframed. This is the second version I did of this homestead. The other one was a winter scene. I have returned to this wonderful location, along Perry Park Road here in Colorado, numerous times because it offers up some of the most heart stopping views and inspiration for art. I have painted the scenery many times! Mother Nature sure provides the beauty to sustain us, and I aim to capture as much of it as I can and share it through my art. I created an entertaining painting video series (vlog) and this link will take you to an episode which features my work on both versions of the Homestead on Perry Park Road: https://youtu.be/jt29Zw3W2wY

Please enjoy my new art vlog "The Git Go", featuring painting demonstrations, garden shenanigans and fun in my vegan kitchen! Link to my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL_0JmbtbGYsEGxso30g5Zg I am fortunate to have been the daughter of two very talented and professional artists. I was raised in New York by my father who was an illustrator and my mother who was a fine artist. I spent many years looking over their shoulders and I consider those to be the best art lessons of my life. Even though I took various individual art courses and attended Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, my parents were always my best critics! I have spent quite a bit of time in the commercial art field doing book illustration, graphic design, murals and other projects, such as pen and ink drawings for a nationally syndicated humor column, cartoons for Celestial Seasonings, and a series of beer labels for Irons Brewing Company in Colorado. Currently, how- ever, I am focused solely on my fine art career. I specialize in painting the figure, with a particular fondness for the Mother and Child theme, although any depiction of the “love aspect” is what inspires me. I also paint still lifes and landscapes. Any excuse to pick a bouquet of flowers or go for a hike in search of a riveting landscape is most welcome. Whatever the environs of life, you can always find me behind an “art desk” of one kind or another, be it an easel, a camera lens or a computer! I have been living and working as a professional artist in Colorado since 1976. My approach to art includes: my reverence for all forms of life and the loving and creative relationships which they form, my recognition of the light that pervades all, and my love of color.
