In the current climate crisis, this piece was inspired by the need for humans to reshape their way of life in order to continue existing as a species. The term 'Hop Limit' is used in computer programming to determine how long a data packet can survive in a system before being destroyed. I foudn the metaphor fitting due to the way humans are constantly being reshaped into data in the digital age.
