About The Artwork
"Hope" ⠀ I took a religious theme of "the light through the dark" and put it on a canvas with an ornament. ⠀ ?The dark is a grey background. ?The light is a yellow ornament. ⠀ Deep thought translates by color and simple petal shapes. ⠀ I think that hope is believing in this light, an optimistic feeling for a great future. Also, the ornament is very feminine and tender, bright and full of life. ⠀ I liked how it looks and this painting became the first one in Ornament Series. I decided to create more ornaments with petals/leaves shapes, that are close to traditional national culture. ⠀ The painting "Hope" is special for me because she born a Series. But it is available for sale, of course. I like when my artworks live with people and inspired them. ⠀

Katya Kononenko is a Ukrainian contemporary artist. She is engaged in abstraction, using open bright colors, simple shapes, clear lines, textures. Mainly works with oil, acrylic on canvas, mixed media, ink on paper. Katya was born in Ukraine. She graduated from the Faculty of Psychology. She studied color and art therapy. Archetypes, ego-states, existential issues of individuality in society, along with nature and in social life - the leading research themes for the author. The process of creating a work is a collaboration-experiment of the idea, selected materials, and spiritualization of the product of creativity. The result of the work is not only the created art object, also the transformed reality around and inside the author. The artist accepts the fact that the world is constantly changing and she is in it too.
