This painting was inspired by my time in Tanzania, where the overwhelming vitality of nature can contrast sharply with civilization, creating a surreal and magical tension between the two. As an artist, my work is deeply rooted in nature’s vitality and resilience, shaped by my experiences living in diverse environments. Through vibrant colors, layered textures, and expressive brushstrokes, I explore the tension between abundance and fragility in the natural world. Whether inspired by the lush forests of Africa, the tranquil gardens of Europe, or the vast expanses of the Pacific, my work reflects the beauty and complexity of the landscapes that have shaped me. Working plein air and in the studio, I invite viewers to immerse themselves in nature’s energy, offering both a sense of wonder and a space for reflection. I mostly paint from memory, sometimes its hard work and sometimes I feel the exact hue of the grass. I work rather quick, emotional, and mostly in acrylic, but also use oil, pastels and pencil from time to time
