Hus #3 Painting

[BUILD] : Most of the 11"x14" in the "Hus" series are standard stretch canvas, that is then mounted to a wood "box" for more depth and dimensionality. They're about 2.25" deep. The sounds of paint on the paintbrush is my main driver. Really. The process is more important than the end result. I find inspiration in layers. In depth. The "bottom" layers are seen from a top-down view (imagine a simple city drawing) and the "top" layers are from a head-on point of view. Most of my paintings have simple houses inspired by the Swedish countryside, juxtaposed with 1960s highrises. I find beauty in the crude simplicity of these quick and dirty buildings. Brisk, rejuvenating, cold spring mornings on the coast are where I find inspiration for my color palette. Muted, understated, and calm.
