The style of this piece can be described as Expressive Assemblage much like Rauschenberg “combines” method in which non-traditional materials and objects were employed in various combinations. This work can also be seen as an amalgamation of culture, history and something entirely new. This series consists of forgotten or lost personal items, discarded printed items and photographs that are reborn to tell their stories in mixed media paintings and assemblage sculptures. Its only when all of these items are presented together that the story begins to unfold. When the viewer seeks to understand the story behind each work, they remember that forgotten history and in turn can see their part in it.

United States
I am a Houston, Texas based interdisciplinary artist who works in a variety of mediums including paint and assemblage work. My art is inspired by the exploration of different cultures and how social constructs define one’s growth and identity. I have discovered that art is not a private conversation; rather art is a communal experience between the artist and the community in which they choose to explore. My goal as an artist is to reveal to the world its humanity and our human connection.
