About The Artwork

“I have written your name on the palm of my hand.” Isaiah 49:16 This verse is one of my favorites of the prophetic Isaiah scriptures. It looks forward to the Messiah’s coming and alludes to His sacrifice on the cross. The personal message of this verse, the fact that it says “YOUR name,” is so meaningful to me. Those nails were pounded into HIS hands instead of ours. They carved out His love for each one of us into the palms of His two hands. Visualize yourself, your heart and soul, safely enfolded within His nail-pierced hands. Those nail scars declare YOUR name. They declare Christ’s love for YOU. The original 12″ x 12″ acrylic painting features Christ’s nail-pierced hand superimposed upon a blood red heart over a fiery background of yellows and oranges. The heart represents both the loving heart of Jesus toward us, and also our own hearts which are captured by His boundless love. Jesus’ hand covers and holds your heart. The fiery background implies our life in this difficult world before we place our souls within Jesus’ loving care. His hand is painted in cool blues and purples, symbolizing the rest, peace, and serenity that we find within His embrace. I pray that this design touches your soul. Jesus loves us deeply and desires relationship with us. His nail-scarred hand reaches toward our hearts, beckoning us to Him. John 3:16 ~ Blue

Blue Tapp is an artist, photographer, musician, and published author. She has run her own website development company, Blue’s ArtHouse Graphics & Web Design, since 1997. Blue's artistic vision emerges from her own story of struggle with suicidal depression, addiction and an emotionally abusive childhood home. As a young adult, she attempted suicide by swallowing a handful of sleeping pills. Her spirit left her body before she was brought back to life in the hospital. Blue is alive today because God miraculously saved her life. Four angels appeared and helped her call for help before she died. Since then, Blue has been miraculously healed from depression and addiction. She has discovered the marvelous joy of living in deep relationship with Jesus and He has blessed her with glorious visions of heaven and messages of how deep is God's love for us. Her memoir, "My Demon, My Jesus," is an international best seller available on Amazon. Find more information on her website at bluetapp.com. Blue's Nail-Pierced Hand acrylic paintings feature stylized depictions of the nail-pierced hand of Jesus Christ. Each painting is poignantly paired with Scripture, inviting viewers to reflect upon Christ’s constant presence in our lives. Blue’s paintings tell stories of Jesus’ love for us, His healing powers, and His relentless pursuit of our hearts. His pierced open hand beckons us to follow Him, and invites us to place our own hands within His protective grasp. Blue’s vibrant colors radiate from her canvases in brilliant visual reminders of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that offers us salvation. Blue and her husband, Craig, live and homestead in Blue Eye, Missouri, where they raise chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats and grow their own food.
