ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My works are based on sound, noise and music. The artworks I create translate and incorporate sounds through interactive installations, sculptures, photographs and paintings. My latest series of paintings play with ideas around the remix. In the popular lexicon the remix is another rendition of a song typically produced by another hand or ear. Colour and gesture represent my response to the sounds I’m hearing as I work on a painting. Each work revolves around a specific piece of music most of music is experimental, jazz, classic rock or classically themed. I find the restructuring of the form to add an exciting dimension to what was now becoming what can be. This is reflected in the Remix series of paintings.
