There are two distinct stories going on in this painting. One is about what the man is looking. The other is about what the cat is looking. This is a Second Place winner in the 2024 Art Collectors Choice Awards conducted by the American Art Awards. The competition named the “World’s Best Acrylic Figure Artists”. Artists from 62 countries competed and 20 international art collectors scored all entries. I am greatly honored by this recognition. This marks the third international juried competitive award this painting has received. This painting won a 2022 Talent Award in an international juried competition by Art Show International Gallery. It also received an Honorable Mention Award in an 2022 Art Show International Gallery’s Portrait Competition.

Haley is a self-taught, award-winning artist. He developed an interest in painting when his mother gave him a "Paint by Numbers" painting set as a child. He has worked in healthcare all of his life and presently is retired and lives in Parkland, Florida. His last position was Chief Operating Officer at the largest hospice in Indiana. This end-of-life work has contributed to his forming a unique outlook on life and how he views the world, which has undoubtedly influenced his artistic creations. His art style has wide appeal and ranges from abstract to realism. His paintings are found hanging in many private collections across the United States. He has won a number of international juried art competitions.
