I'm Doing Fine Painting

Rachel is a contemporary portrait and figure artist and illustrator living and working from her studio in Brampton, Cumbria. She's been fascinated by drawing faces since childhood and persued her dream by going to Art college and gaining a 1st Class Ba(hons) Degree in Illustration and Visual communication from UCLan in 1998. She's worked as a greeting card designer and art therapist for South Lakes Mind, but enjoys painting for pleasure now. Blending the beauty of figures and faces with abstract imagery, flowers, animals and patterns, her paintings are described as feminine, dreamlike surrealistic contemporary portraits. Her work captures a naivety and innocence but just as people are complex and layered, so are her paintings.
