About The Artwork
Saint Michael is one of the archangels — the highest creation of God, having his own name, will and supernatural abilities. He leads the heavenly host fighting his fallen brother, Lucifer. In the Orthodox Church, he is called the Archangel, that is, the head of the Holy host and is revered as the patron Saint of all soldiers.The face of the Archangel is red-this indicates the presence of the fire of the deity. In one hand, he holds the reins of a fire horse with silver wings and a trumpet. With a trumpet, he heralds the second coming of the Lord, the sound is carried around the world just like the wind, which can also reach all places. In the other hand, he holds a gospel in a decorative metal cover. From the gospel, the word of God goes out into the world. The gospel is a joyful message, the source of God's Word. Incense is one of the gifts that the Savior received at birth from the three sages as a symbol of God. The Archangel spread his arms. A cosmic rainbow shines between them-a symbol of God's reconciliation with people. Michael, the Grand Duke, defeats evil-Satan, portrayed by Hellfire. He hits the enemy with a spear. The Archangel throws him into the abyss forever.The Bible mentions that the Archangel Michael will call souls to the Last judgment and will ask for forgiveness for those who have at least a small part of the good. This makes him the protector of the dead. Christians also believe that the heavenly protector can rescue the souls of sinners from hell. Hello! My name is Regina. I’ve grown up in a beautiful city on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Since my childhood I have been influenced by masterpieces of great artists. I couldn’t imagine my life without crayons in my hands. Paints have always been around me, even on my clothes. I’ve mastered the Byzantine and Old Russian techniques of art. Icon painting completely took over me. I was amazed by the charm and cleanness of this style of art. My imagination was captured by natural pigments, hand-made paints, and incredible shine of gold. That is why I studied at icon painting schools in Moscow for a long period. I also took private lessons from the leading masters of icon painting and gilding. Now I have more time and opportunity to do my favorite activities – painting and icons painting. When I paint my pictures, I get into a creative flow that gives me sense of freedom and aeriality. I’m sure the paintings can serve as a doorway to unknown side of the world, they open up horizons for a new reality and our fantasies.
