If My Grandmother's House Still Stood Painting

Sixty years ago, my grandmother lived in a small cottage on a dirt road in a modest neighborhood on the fringe of Tel Aviv. Over the years, Tel Aviv grew around it and over it. Eventually the house was demolished. The old neighborhood has been taken over by tall office buildings and trendy shops. The site of the house is now a small parking lot. In the painting, the old cottage stands where it was, along with the urban sprawl.
