Germany
The artist Heino Karschewski was born in Eckernfoerde in 1956. After the study to the illustrator in Hamburg in 1983 Heino Karschewski 10 years was active as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. In 1993 the change took place in the free painting. A later participation in the Masterclass with Prof. Prof. M. Fuchs (son of Ernst Fuchs) in Vienna confirmed him on his way of the objective abstraction. His studies of painting were strongly influenced by the grand old Italian masters Caravaggio and Reni and also by Rembrandt. His figurative imagination and painting technique modeled on the old masters allowed him to create drama and misterious suspense by means of light-dark contrasts and textures that may range from delicate diaphanous to pasty. He puts a fine degree of subtle abstraction into relationship with the objective main motives.
