About The Artwork
In this work primary concept is the investigation of immersion as an statement in the space of contemporary painting through Inlay technique. This ancient technique dates Back to 2500 BC, and has inspired my new group, as a point at which the history converges with the present. Inlay was first used in Mesopotamia during the Sumer civilization. China also has examples dating back to 400 B.C. Later, the technique was adopted by furniture makers in Europe. Inlay has been used in sculpture and in pictorial depictions, among other places. The principle of the inlay technique is when an embed pieces of different shapes, colors, and textures is placed into the main body of the painting. It is realized by employing various techniques and media to stand alone, defining its presence in the painting. The large shape in the middle of the work is a mirror like reflective surface; it is inspired by the design of the wing of F-15 fighter jet inlayed in the main body of the painting. The mirror brings the viewer into the work and when the viewers position is changed, so is the reflected image in the mirror. Very much like in real life, when we bring our perspective to the table, what we see is in direct relation to our perspective. "Immersion-1" is part of the first survey that examines the immersion in contemporary painting.

This factor is inserted into the fabric of our daily existence; as revealed by determinism, freedom of choice is illusory and society is imposed to function as a reliable producer of excess.
