Imprisonment Painting

Born in 1972 in the North East of Catalonia, in the town of Girona. As a little boy Alex loved walking in the woods carrying a sketching book drawing the vegetation, the birds or whatever animals he came across. In his home, he would spend long hours drawing, coloring, making and creating things. He suffered from severe dysplasia and sometimes had difficulty to walk, so that is how he spend his time and art became his therapy. He was very fond of surrealism and cubism and the work of his favorite artists, the great Salvador Dalí, Catalan like him, and Pablo Ruiz Picasso. When he lived in New York, very inspired by the city, he started to toy with oils and acrylics in his spare time. He loved spending time in his studio in Astoria working on his pieces of art. Art became then a form of meditation for him. And he loved expressing all of his thoughts and feelings as well as his dreams through his work of art.
