n the Spirit - III This painting is of the 3 from the "In the Spirit" inspired during lockdown I've always found that connecting with nature feeds my soul like nothing else can - it doesn't matter whether it’s a woodland walk or a simple picnic in the garden. It's that re-connection to the world around me and the reminder that I'm part of something so much bigger than myself that instantly restores my sense of perspective, peace and clarity. My painting begins as an exploration into the unknown and involves a sense of risk-taking. Conveying emotions by expressing it in the representational use of colour, line and textures. Neeta's long-standing passion has been for nature. She is inspired by rapidly changing landscape by the four seasons with the breath-taking views and walks through countryside. She has always found that connecting with nature feeds her soul like nothing else can - it doesn't matter whether it’s a woodland walk or a simple picnic in the garden. It's that re-connection to the world around her and the reminder that she is a part of something so much bigger than herself that instantly restores my sense of perspective, peace and clarity. With her painting she is trying to capture a moment, atmosphere and sense of place, while exploiting the tension between figuration and abstraction to express energy and passion. Born in India, Neeta graduated in Fine Arts from Madras University before working in 3D animation. After moving to the UK in 1995, She now works from her studio in North London. Working mostly in acrylic paint on board, Neeta regularly exhibits her work in London. Most recently she was one of five artists exhibiting at the Camden Image Gallery in the exhibition 'People and Places'.
