About The Artwork
I have always found this garden to be a very cozy place to walk. If my walking path lay in this direction, I tried to walk right here, enjoying the views. The Garden of the Winter Palace also had another name, the Swing Garden. The reason for this name was that this place was formerly the Razvodnaya Square. Earlier, when the Admiralty lost the function of a defensive structure, the site between the Neva and the Winter Palace became a place for setting up the guard. And after the explosion in the basement above the dining room and a number of other attempts on the royal family, a number of measures were taken to ensure security. The result was a garden with a beautiful fence, which was completely raised above the surrounding landscape by about a meter. A fountain was installed in the center of the garden. Which to this day, of course, has already been restored, you can see with your own eyes. And now on my canvas with an autumn mood.
