About The Artwork

This acrylic painting of wildflowers will freshen any room in the home. It showcases Indian Blanket wildflowers blooming proudly by an old wooden fence post with an old strand of barbed wire still hanging on. The wildflower blooms are a variety of reds, magenta, and pink and they are nestled between bright summer green foliage. It is another example of the uncomplicated, innocent beauty I find in Texas. The canvas is 24 inches tall by 12 inches wide so it is just right for that small but tall wall space that you are looking to fill. *Category: Nature Canvas Art, Landscape Original *Title: "Indian Blankets by the Road" by J S Ellington. *Acrylic on stretched canvas *Half-inch edges painted in the colors of the face of the painting *A hanging wire has been added *Initialed on the front and signed on the back. *Certificate of authenticity is provided.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a Texas artist and have painted for most of my 71 years, being from a family of artists. My mother's youngest sister, aunt Patsy, spent a lot of time with me, guiding and encouraging me, and I credit her for my passion for art. She painted under the name of "von." When she died in August of 2018, I began placing "von" somewhere on the face of each painting as an acknowledgment of her role in my artistic endeavors. My inspirations come from my home environment in Texas. Things that I have taken for granted all my life are now frequent subjects for art. Mesquites, cactus, old barns and shacks, windmills, wooden fence posts, wildflowers and the like are favorite subjects. I am a colorist, and I enjoy using color to give new life to otherwise fading beauty. In addition to color, I strive for dimension, movement, depth and unusual perspective.
