This piece is about industry, in a literal and non literal sense. Literally around the oppression, the smog, constraints and influence. How industry is predominately male, led by and influenced. The piece is also influenced by some of the male artists I admire. The work is on canvas and shipped in a box. Please note that the teal colour pops out and is slightly brighter than on the images. Thank you.

Lou Wildish’ abstract paintings are captivating and dynamic. Born in Nottingham Lou discovered her love of art in her teens painting large murals on walls for family and friends, interestingly in black and white. Her colourful lyrical abstract work uses pallet knife and brush, blending, layering, marks and with an occasional mixed media element often with the use of silver, gold or copper leaf. Wildish' work is best known for her use of explosive colour, bold marks, and wild energy. Sometimes described as expressionistic, Lou is an emotive, intuitive painter and is inspired by energy, in particular the human body’s energy source, human emotions, nature’s power, and atmospheric influences. The work is non specific to time or place and is led by energy and emotion relating to human being or interaction. There is a spiritual connection, with some of the pieces feeling ethereal, connecting to or seeking the unknown, connecting to Lou’s own journey of resilience, memories, fears or hopes. As a trained dancer, Lou’s work is connected to movement, tempo and pace. Pieces reflect the body’s energy during creation, and translate energy sources from the journey that the work has taken to create. Lou wants the audience to create their own connection with a piece through the colours, energy created or seeing a place or memory that resonates with them within the work. She is a keen advocate and supporter of invisible disabilities, equality and diversity, she believes in social justice.
