I am an artist and educator from London England. I have been practicing art since 1996 and have exhibited extensively in the UK. I started my art career as an Installation artist creating artworks that had a political leaning. I stopped creating installations due to space constraints and to pursue a career in education. I now work on a smaller scale and have changed the conceptual to the abstract. My recent collection is the Interconnections series of artworks. These artworks are based on Modernist Art of the early 20th century specifically Constructivist and Suprematist Art. Artists such as Lissitzky, Rodchenko and Popova have been an rich source of inspiration not only through their use of dynamic forms, shapes and colours but also the drama that exuded their art. Consequences and Interconnections are a series of artworks exploring the physical interaction of a figure within a geometric landscape. We are surrounded by the geometry of the metropolis, by structures and lines that connect us from one space to another. Although the figure looks to be inhabiting the space freely there seems to be conflict. a struggle to survive, dodging circular boulders and toppling rectangular girders. Despite the oppressiveness of the space the figure bends and adapts to the hostile environment just as humanity adapts to the ever-changing landscapes.
