About The Artwork

Invincible" is an abstract oil painting that explores the essence of triumph and ambiguity. At the forefront of the composition stands the upper body of a male figure, his form extending from the thighs to the neck, with arms triumphantly raised. The figure emanates a sense of strength and resilience, epitomizing the theme of invincibility. Draped over the figure's body and legs are a large number of cubic and other abstract forms. These forms may symbolize various aspects of the human experience, perhaps representing challenges overcome or obstacles conquered. Their arrangement suggests a dynamic interaction with the figure, enhancing the sense of motion and vitality within the painting. In the background, a verdant expanse of greenery provides a serene backdrop, contrasting with the dynamic energy of the foreground figure. Amidst this natural setting, a mysterious round form supports the figure's back, its significance left open to interpretation. It may represent a source of stability or fortitude, adding an element of intrigue to the narrative. The scene depicted in "Invincible" is imbued with uncertainty, inviting viewers to contemplate the circumstances surrounding the figure's triumphant pose. While the exact nature of the achievement remains undefined, the figure's gesture releases a palpable sense of victory or excitement. Whether celebrating a personal triumph or symbolizing a broader sense of resilience, "Invincible" is intended to attract with its enigmatic allure and evocative symbolism.

I am a Swiss artist from the region of Fribourg, Western Switzerland. The cubist representation of urban and industrial subjects in the artworks of the American painters Charles Sheeler, Charles Demuth and partially Edward Hopper, influenced me a lot at the time, making me approach this artistic style. Since then the city and nature, in all its forms, remains a great source of inspiration for me. Through my artworks, I exploit the figurative and graphic style close to abstraction but also realism. Oil paint is the essential material I use for my creations, in some cases I use other media and techniques such as acrylic, ink, charcoal, collage and screen printing.
