Iris, series Polos, acrylic on canvas, 80 x 150 cm, 2016 POLOS SERIES The Polos series consists of two paintings highlighting the contrasts between human beings’ and gives answers upon my inquiry if these differences, which the human manages to classify in such a structured manner, really matter or are we more similar to each other than it seems to be at a first glance? Working on this series opened my mind to think freely and from there on feelings were born that guided me little by little to find answers in myself, bearing in mind for example the infinite possibilities that exist around me. I have always thought, that we are all made of us all. To emphasize this, I like to think about the poetic as well as scientific sentence Carl Sagan once said: "We are all made out of stardust”. This short but significant quote, represents a truth in me, which makes human and universal differences look fragile, and the value of something that seemed to be of unimportance becoming significant. Everything is made up of atoms and energies that we share in parts or in its totality, as living or passed away human beings.
