"January 9, 2017 - 3" Painting

I am a German painter (b. 1986, Minden, Germany), working in gestural abstractions of nature — flowers, plants, landscapes — at varying degrees of zoom and abstraction.

Influences are Impressionism, Abstract Expressionism, and a strong interest in materiality. Largely self-taught since childhood, I paint fast and impulsively, treating each piece as a journey of discovery rather than a fixed plan. I title each work with its date of creation, underscoring its character as a snapshot in time.

The process is intuitive, driven by movement and instinct as much as by decision. The results are bold and tender, fragile in places, with close attention to the process as it unfolds — direct, physical, and powerful, a blend of chaos and calm.

My work is held in private and corporate collections worldwide, with a focus on the US and additional collectors across Europe, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East — including cities such as Paris, Rome, London, Berlin, Venice, Melbourne, Sydney, and Dubai.

Beyond the studio, my paintings have appeared in numerous international film, TV, and commercial productions, including Grey's Anatomy, Euphoria, Will & Grace, 9-1-1, and Jane the Virgin, as well as campaigns for Samsung, Google, Peloton, and BMW.
