Always loved the music of Jimi Hendrix. I watched the Monterey Pop concert film a long time ago and realized i needed to paint Jimi's "debut" performance there. In the end of the set he plays Wild Thing and burns his guitar. My decision was to capture the only close up shot the film camera's captured and immortalize it as a large Oil Painting. It turned out quite expressive due to the hard light. Its a legendary performance and this shot captures exactly what was on the line for Jimi Hendrix that evening. Focused, excited, but anxious at the same time.
