About The Artwork
Joseph's Song is my second painting from the serie "memories". It is a heartfelt remembrance of the people that poured so much love in our lives, but are no longer with us. Joseph was my grand-father. Just like the other paintings I wanted to paint my grand-father in sepia, contrasting him with the colourful background. I surrounded him with elements from his house, the arch design from the facade windows, the design from the balustrade, the hanging jasmine flowers and the tiles on the floor. The style is vintage as a nod to old Beirut, the city were my grand-father lived. Finally, the arabic calligraphy are a pamphlet taken from one of my grand-father's favourite songs, "El Wardi Gamil" , from one of his favourite artists "Oum Kalthoum". The song is about memories and flowers. And just like jasmine flowers, whose beauty and incredible perfume make them unforgettable, my grand-father's strong spirit, proud character and gentle heart, makes his presevnce linger forever in our hearts.

Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, during the civil war and the most difficult times the country faced, she graduated from "Universite Saint-Joseph", with a masters in Economics, and graduated from "Universite Saint-Esprit Kaslik" with a pre-PhD in Marketing. She continued her studies at the London School of Business, where she received a post-graduate diploma in Marketing. She then travelled around the world, discovering Europe, the United States and Asia. She is currently living in Singapore with her husband and daughter, where she is a lecturer in Economics. She is a self-taught artist whose love and passion for painting led her to push the boundaries of her talent, and share her vision of art.
