Jungle Garden Painting

International artist and cultural educator Joan Fabian was a Fulbright Scholar to Pakistan where she taught art at the National College of Arts in Lahore. She has received a Pollock Krasner Award. Her work was purchased by the set designer of CBS Studios (appearing on The Good Wife) and has had her work collected for public art in New Mexico. She exhibited her work at the Smithsonian International and the US Embassy in Lome, Africa. Born in Chicago to Eastern European parents, her early influences ran from the Chicago painting group Hair Who to comic book references. After moving to San Antonio she became interested in primitive art, earth works and the psychological implications of color as a replacement to sound, being that she is hearing impaired.
