KALóS is a piece inspired by the original called Kaleidoscope, but with the difference that KALóS is made on wood and MDF panel and it is one of the largest pieces in the series. The composition of KALóS has the characteristic that its main design is inside a circle and it lies on between two solid rectangles that cover the entire surface. The imaginary border that generates with the dividing line formed between the two colors of these rectangles, at the same time it intersects with the circle that remains above them, generating the sensation of hyperdimensionality, and turning the circle into a kind of window or hole where the figure formed by the different planes and lines is trapped in. Another central aspect to build this series is the Kaleidoscope´s structural and architectural analysis; and by naming my pieces after its components I contribute to give it a sense of permanence, turning the ephemeral into a permanent concept. In addition to the kaleidoscope structural aspect; it is the visual effects produced by the mirrors and the internal objects that really push me to give life to pieces that conceptually contain the same visual hyperdimensional language that the eye captures through the device's hole; shapes and figures with saturated colors that sometimes cannot be understood but at the same time they move our emotions due to their unique and whimsical appearance. KALóS No.2A (MDF panel of 190 cm x 190 x 5cm depth). It is signed on the back. Note: The colors in the images shown may vary depending on the resolution of the screen of the device from which they are viewed.

My approach to the arts began at the age of six with the study of piano and fine arts. As a teenager I got involved in theater and in that context I discovered scenography and stage production which ended up shaping the worldview of my “artist self.” I studied architecture and for a short time I worked as a set designer and later I found my passion for cultural management, an area in which I discovered my vocation as an administrator, maker, creator, executor, and organizer, which would ultimately serve as a foundation for structuring my career as artist. After years of resistance I returned to the plastic arts and immersed myself in the study of the popular arts of Mexico as well as the analysis of the uses and customs of various indigenous peoples, focusing my interest on the visual aesthetics of their crafts, clothing, as well as its spiritual worldview and its symbolism at the same time that my passion for modern architecture and industrial, textile, furniture and automotive design gave life to a peculiar way of seeing art. My work is the reflection of all the above, it is the encounter of possibilities, the consequence of my desire to amalgamate concepts and styles that are often antagonistic to each other and of my interest in everything that does not have to be explained but rather felt, it is the encounter of the indigenous with the modern, the ancestral and the present, the abstract imagination with spatial formality, they are the celebration of my own meaning of being myself.
