'King Tide' is a beautiful textured abstract painting in bold and dramatic cool tones. This painting is inspired by my love of living on the edge of the ocean in tropical Far North Queensland. When the king tides come all the water recedes leaving only the beautiful water in the estuary and a sandy ocean bed off into the distance where the Great Barrier Reef meets the mountains and the Daintree Forest. My work in general is inspired by and is a combination of popular culture and life's everyday events - a word, a triggered memory or the elements in a undiscovered street that catch my eye, to a wave crashing on a morning walk. I call these my lifescapes. This original semi abstract seascape is a mixed media painting which is made up of pencil, ink, acrylic paint and resin, all heavily layered. The back of the painting is also painted white to add strength to the canvas as to are the sides painted white. (Please note - frame in any of the images is not included(. It is signed on the back and wired ready to hang on your wall.

“I’ve lived a little. I’ve travelled a lot. My work is an expression of life experiences good times and bad. I begin with a feeling and end wherever the music and the paint takes me. I’m not trying to answer life’s riddles, it’s more like… this is how I’m feeling." Cheryl ~ A practising professional artist since the 1990’s; Cheryl has amassed a long list of collectors around the world along with solo exhibitions from galleries on the Strand in London, Cambridge and in Cornwall at Truro, St.Ives and Penzance. In the south of the UK is where she lived and immersed herself for five years amongst some of the last of the great post modern British artists such as Sandra Blow, Terry Frost and Barry Cooke. Since returning to Australia, Cheryl has completed her Masters in Visual Arts at the Queensland College of Arts at the Griffith University Campus in Brisbane and has gone on to solo exhibits in public and private galleries in Brisbane, Cairns and Port Douglas. Cheryls studio is based in Port Douglas, tropical Far North Queensland, where she loves creating each day alongside her talented husband 'Pez Art' also an abstract painter on Saatchi Art. Cheryl has developed a deep understanding of mediums and process and puts every ounce of her twenty five years of professionalism into each original painting, from the construction of bespoke stretchers to the preparation and packaging of each work. Her pieces are unique, high quality and absolutely collectable.
