About The Artwork
This is a double self-portrait composition which stamps the artist's mature period. It's more of a woman's soul portrait - the natural feminine state. There is still a breath of love alive in there, although with a hint of its own death. This forms dualism in the composition- experiencing both happiness and pain. The red stains and the dark abstract background establishes a contact with the emotional, vibrant persona - the passionate woman on the left. Every moment contains both sadness and joy - as life does.
