Sensitive artist Carlo Tornese, aka Cartès, since 1994, the year in which he stands out for his harmonious compositions in the solo exhibition in Capua entitled "The Ballad of the Golds" linked to his first fairy tale. His art, perhaps born from an essential need to tell his poetic emotions, felt in the presence of Nature. Artistic high school diploma and degree in architecture as well as art history teacher, he worked in Murano (VE) in the design and creation of wall and table clocks. His training, however, is mainly due to his authentic and innate passion for imagination and the art he cultivated since he was a child. Moderately extroverted, certainly also due to the daily impact with our materialistic world, he is equally animated by his need to translate into images the visions that have fascinated him and which he translates into his fairy tales. Cézanne's famous phrase could be referred to his painting, characterized first by clarism and then by a lyrical expressionism: "first feel, then paint". In his tables, as in his paintings, and last but not least his dials for wall clocks, what stands out is the emotion, linked to the message that the work wants to convey, which from the depicted subject is transmitted to the spectator, creating each time a new relationship between observed subject and observer.
