Gwen is a French mixed media artist living in the South of France, her origins are multi-cultural her father being Indian and Breton by her mother.

From an early age, she has been passionate about expressing herself in her artwork, as it has always represented the 'quiet conversation' with her inner self. She tries to express her deep inner self and emotions trapped in a multi dimensional world. Mixed materials such as paper and other materials offer a unique texture of symbiosis and the extremely rich and dense matter help form an abstract expression.

Her work is influenced by Expressionists such as Munch, Ensor, Schiele, Kokoschka. Surrealism also offers a spring board to explore the subconscious and the dream of the other side.

She manipulates her paintings with mixed materials expanding into three dimensions to create maximum effect. She uses paper, cardboard, wood, metal and acrylic paints, which give her work an energetic expression that helps communicate the suffering and psychological torment. This has form that can be felt in a sensual textured style.

Gwen isn't interested in formal representation but, as with a captured frame in a photograph, it is the expression of the moment which excites interest in the mind's eye. This is the moment that one
chooses to stop in motion, not earlier or later. Her subjects are in the majority anthropomorphic, coming from completely irrational places, without any connection or ratio of distance. Only the feeling for the materials and colours give life to the event, it is the matter that
shapes the forms and vice versa.

All Gwen's work is accessible and one is able to plunge into the inner depths of colours and forms,
they can all be caressed by eye and touch. One must feel the depth!
