About The Artwork

Original will be exposed in Berlin, at MARZIA FROZEN, from 8th to 30th April 2017. The main goal for this day was Santa Maria del Carmine, so I stayed on this side of the river and went along Lungarno Amerigo Vespucci up to Piazza del Carmine, where the church Santa Maria del Carmine, with its Brancacci Chapel, is located. The building doesn´t stand out between the other buildings and the number of visitors is manageable, after 10 minutes in the waiting line I got in. In there, one can see the cycle of frescoes which was carried out by Massaccio. In order to differentiate between the frescoes from Masolio and Masaccio, Prof Götz Pochat told us to look at the hands of the depicted individuals. I had already seen all the frescoes on pictures before, but seeing the originals evoked a feeling of loftiness within me. The visit of this room had such a strong impact on me that I scrapped my original plan of going back of the Ponte Santa Trinitá to Palazzo Pitti where there was a temporary exhibition about Tizian. It was early April and the sun was shining, so I sat down at the pavement toge.
