La Griffe (The Claw) Painting

Born in 1973 at Argenteuil, France, Renaud Buvry spent his entire childhood in Herblay in Val-d'Oise. When he was a child he was passionate about drawing and making models of theatre stage sets. At 16 years old, attracted to acting, he took classes at the Florent Drama School in Paris where he had the opportunity to play some supporting roles in several feature films. In 1988, he moved to the south of France where he threw himself seriously into painting. It was here that he exhibited his art for the first time and met other artists such as Richard Di Rosa, Jean Jaques Lebel, Jean-Pierre Giacobazzi, Gérald Fromanger. His first sales to Parisian art enthusiasts started him on the road to his notoriety. In 2005, he moved to Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean. Since this time his style has continued to evolve, but like every artist, the road to maturity is a long one! «La Performance» (painting in public as a performance) is for him, a way to express himself without limits. Often organized in public settings, accompanied by musicians or a DJ, he lets himself go by painting and creating a large canvas in less than 2 hours. Painting in public in this way gives Renaud immense pleasure as the spontaneity of creation is so important to him.
