The work consists of many layers of overlays made with acrylic on fabric prepared manually and treated to be stable and permanent over time. “La lluita incorporada” is a series currently made and influenced by a book from from the catalonian philosopher Marina Garcés called “Un mundo común” (A common world). It focuses on redefining human bodies (in itself and in collectivity) and how this concept could therefore redefine our shared common spaces. “... But what if the bodies are not joined or separated but in another relational logic that we haven’t thought about yet? Beyond the duality of union / separation, the bodies are in continuation. Not just because they breed or reproduce, but because they are finite. There where my hands can not reach, someone else’s can. Whatever my brain does not know, someone else’s does. What I can’t see behind my back, someone can from another angle... Being finite as a condition not for separation, but for continuation is the basis for another conception of the collective us, based on the alliance and solidarity between single bodies, its languages and its minds.”

I was born in Barcelona in 1983 and grew up in a family with both artist parents. For as long as I can remember, images have fascinated me, but it was the ability of painting to exile complex ideas in a simple way that has led me to deepen its practice during the last 16 years. During this time, I have verified in each work the certainty of Socrates quote “I only know that I know nothing”. Thus trapped by the ability of painting to actively make us think, I continue working to investigate new forms of representation and images that allow us to think of the world in a different way. I am interested in Painting for its ability to expand our reality. I understand and use paints as tools to create non-textual images with multiple layers of meaning. I see painting as a form of previous language that has the power to impact and affect a pre-rational space in our minds. I like to think of paintings as trigger images. During the last years I have dedicated myself to the search for a pictorial language that allows me to create spaces where new fictions can be born and thus think the unthinkable and even the impossible. In this way, the creation of unfinished images and with a hybrid language between abstraction and figuration, between what is gestural and mechanical, between accident and control, has become a leitmotif in my work, always looking for a heterogeneous space where undefined, unfinished and imperfect allows the emergence of new fictions and meanings. The meanings or ideas emerge to fill the communication gaps and looking at the painting becomes an intimate space where you can think the unthinkable. Painting as a catalyst for new images and ideas that shape the world. Painting as a space of collective intimacy.
