ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The painting was inspired by an interesting mountain lake in Romania, that was formed suddenly due to a rock slide, which caused a portion of the woods to be submerged. Thus one can see the trunks of the trees peering out of the water everywhere, in a sort of frozen memory of the accident. Although it is called the Red Lake, for the color of the soil, in the summer trees add an overall green filter to the image, making it serene and disquieting at the same time.
