‘Landing 1’ Painting

I suppose that during a pandemic, everyone is reminded of their own mortality. In my case, and with concerns for the visual, I was reminded of the myth of Charon, the boatman on the river Styx, who ferried the dead to the afterlife. These thoughts spawned a series of paintings on ‘landings’. I have always had in interest in the original German Expressionists, and this was an excuse to dabble in their styles and colours.
