About The Artwork
Allowed to develop with freedom and an intuitive sense of how things can be, the subject of the work, if it can be deemed to exist at all, might be seen as the sentiments with which it was created, fluid, intense, open to change and possibilities. Acrylic paint washes over and envelops more defined forms, revealing thick, self-levelled textures and underlying layers. The blue theme was inspired by a painting by Odilon Redon. The painting makes use of the highest quality Golden Acrylic paints and texture mediums on heavyweight (15 oz) cotton duck canvas and bespoke box-profile stretcher bars. It is finished with a removable, semi-gloss, solvent acrylic varnish, over the top of an acrylic isolation coat and appears unframed with wrap-around paint edges.
