I dig, carve, cut out the places of the images that were (once) presented to the male viewer for their beauty, grace or sensuality; instead, I bend and twist the strips that are not related to the female body, the feminine. Because of these relationships, it distracts the viewer from being stuck on the surface of reality and encourages them to read the works from different angles. The work is multi-layered in terms of meaning as well as multi-layered in material. I try to disrupt the old order and overturn the old tradition by destroying the main substance of the original painting. By deconstructing the original painting I also deconstruct the artistic and social conventions behind it. I am trying to tell a new story from its conflict with the existing pattern, to mute the original and to give it a new voice. About the technique: The plywood surface is completely covered with modeling paste. After drying, the surface is sanded. The transferred image is pre-printed on paper and then transferred onto the textured surface with glue. When the paper is dry, it is completely peeled off by hand and the image is left. Some parts of the female image are cut and broken. The strips fixed on a background that is further back are placed in the removed space. Strips are formable plastic. Both sides of these plastic strips are covered with canvas. The coated strips are shaped by bending and twisting according to the space created in the image and fixed with staples on the background. The intertwined strips are completely cured with modeling paste and textures are created on them. After completely drying, paints (acrylic, oil paint, spray paint, etc.) suitable for the sanded strips and the work are applied. In the final stage, glossy and matte water-based varnish is applied to the work. If you have any questions:
