About The Artwork

Cervia is a town on the Adriatic Sea. While participating at an art exhibition there, I learned about the typical sailing boats used there. I was attracted by the bright orange colour of these sails and decided to do this watercolour. Behind the boats you can see the old seasalt deposit/museum since Cervia produces one the best seasalts. I hope the viewer enjoys these traditional sailing boats as much as I did.

Maria Nobili was born in Center Italy and has lived in Toronto (Canada) for many years. Currently she lives and works in San Cesareo, a small town in the suburbs of Rome, Italy. She started painting at 13 years old, when she participated in a national contest. In 2002 she joined a group of artists with whom she opened an Art Studio in the Rome area. She prefers working with oils but has also obtained good critics on her watercolours. The artist is inspired by everything that surrounds her during her daily life. She captures snapshots through her travels and then brings them on canvas: landscapes, people, sceneries. She brings all her emotions into her paintings and this comes out through the bright colours of her high-quality paintings. Many of her works are part of private collections and some are showing in public places. She has participated in may exhibitions, solo and groups, showing in many important galleries in Rome and on prestigious sites like via Margutta and via Giulia. She belongs to the Scuderia of Daniele Radini Tedeschi, a well known art critic in Rome, and the St. Lazarus Academia.
