ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a scene from the harbor of the city I live in: the fishing ships and ferries going in and out of the harbor all day. I like that scene so one day I set up my easel and painted it. Leaving the harbor and going to open sea does have some symbolic meaning, as well.

I am a painter and illustrator residing in Zadar, Croatia. I have graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Croatia, and am member of Croatian Society of Visual Artists. I have had two one man shows and have participated in numerous group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. My works are in private collections in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Great Britain, United States, Vatican as well as in the collection of Swedish King. My works are published in the most recent edition of international annual "žStroke of Genius 5 - Best of Drawing". Another one of my drawings was selected as a finalist in the ARC International Salon 2012/13 art contest. I am fascinated with works of best digital artists, I work mainly in traditional media, because I prefer the tactile quality and texture of painted canvas. My inspiration is beauty I see in my environment, both natural and man made.
