It contains the vocals of Noel Gallagher of Britpop band Oasis, who also co-wrote the song and previously worked with The Chemical Brothers on "Setting Sun". "Let Forever Be" was the Chemical Brothers' fourth top-ten single in the United Kingdom, peaking at number nine on the UK Singles Chart. It was also successful in Hungary, where it debuted and peaked at number two, and it reached the top 40 in Ireland and New Zealand. In the United States, the single reached the top 30 on two Billboard charts: the Hot Dance Singles Sales chart and the Modern Rock Tracks chart. The video for the track was directed by Michel Gondry, and utilized ground-breaking video and film effects in its depiction of a young woman's nightmares (the girl is played by actress and dancer Stephanie Landwehr). The video, which drew visual inspiration from Ray Davies' 1975 Granada TV production Starmaker, received much media attention and became one of the most well-known videos from the band. The video also makes specific visual and thematic references to the dance sequence "I Only Have Eyes For You" (music by Harry Warren; lyrics by Al Dubin), choreographed by Busby Berkeley for the Warner Bros. musical Dames (1934) directed by Ray Enright. Pitchfork Media named it the "quintessential Michel Gondry video" and ranked it at number seven in their list of the "Top 50 Music Videos of the 1990s”. Surrender is the third studio album by English electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers. It was released on 21 June 1999 in the United Kingdom by Freestyle Dust and Virgin Records and in the United States by Astralwerks. The album saw the duo exploring further various electronic styles, including house music. Four singles were released from the album: "Hey Boy Hey Girl", "Let Forever Be", "Out of Control", and "Music: Response”. The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo formed by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons in Manchester in 1989. They were pioneers (along with the Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, and other acts) in bringing the big beat genre to the forefront of pop culture. They released their debut album Exit Planet Dust (1995) and it eventually went on to sell over a million copies worldwide. After attracting Virgin Records, the duo achieved more widespread success with their second album Dig Your Own Hole (1997), which topped the UK charts. In the UK, they have had six No. 1 albums and 13 Top 20 singles, including two No. 1 hits. Their name came about in 1995 after they dropped their original name of "The Dust Brothers" due to the existence of a different band with the same name.
