"Liberty For All"

"The Statue of Liberty" and the poem "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus, welcoming immigrants, is still holding strong by many while it's welcoming message is being challenged as being valid in the current White House administration.

Using ‘The Language of Flowers’ to convey a message in the painting. The Calla lilies are associated with faith, purity, and holiness and the white lily depicts motherhood, purity, death, and rebirth. Not all of the flowers are shown as dying. Many of the flowers are still vibrant, as most Americans are
immigrants themselves and embrace the welcoming message.

I chose this style to energize this painting to give it a metaphor showing the energy around this important topic about immigration, the same immigration that has shaped America as it is today.

I often draw in charcoal before I add paint and often let it show through as I did here.

While signing this painting, I accidentally created a small hole which I have patched and signed. While showing this painting and even pointing it out it has gone undetected. I have lowered the price by $500 to accommodate for it. It is even difficult for me to find it now.

"Liberty For All" has been varnished with "Krylon Conservation Varnish," which won't yellow over time and has a gloss finish.

The sides have been painted as an extension of the painting. It is wired in the back and ready to hang.
